MONROE, Washington -- John Zaretzke won the first of the Dodge twin 50-lap mains for the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Super Stocks and Lex Johnson won the second. The overall Dodge 100-lap bonus went to Zaretzke with a win and a second. Randy’s Ring & Pinion NASCAR Street Stock Bomber winner was Steve Ptacek. The Super Figure Eight winner John Carlson followed up last weeks win. Geoff Chandler held off all the challenges to win the Extreme Contact Figure Eight feature. Greg Estes made it two in a row with a come from behind win in the new Stinger Eights Division. The Hertz Equipment Rental Hornets had two mains with Bill Hill winning the first and Bill Wade the second.

The Dodge 100 was run as two separate 50-lap mains with full points in each and an overall $ bonus for the driver with the most points. In the first 50-lap main fast qualifier John Zaretzke started from the eleventh position and by lap 22 was the leader. Gaylon Stewart got to second but did not have enough time to catch Zaretzke. Both drivers put it in cruise control for the remainder of the 50-laps trying to conserve tires for the second fifty. Kelly Mann was third and Ron Fritzley fourth.

After the win Zaretzke spun the Dodge Wheel of Invert and it came up 12. This gave the winner of the second 50-lap main Lex Johnson a starting position of first. Johnson was on the pole after an eleventh place finish in the first 50. He got tangled with Tom Mathew in the first go round and had to leave the track for repairs. The first starting position and fresher tires was a combination that nobody could answer as Johnson had a half lap lead midway through the second 50. John Zaretzke used up his tires in spirited battle with Shane Harding to get to second and Harding held on for third. Stewart finished fourth and Fritzley fifth.

In the Randy’s Ring & Pinion NASCAR Street Stock Bomber Main Steve Ptacek got to the front quickly via a few early race cautions. Ptacek opened a large lead while point leader Naima Lang was still getting through traffic. Lang was catching Ptacek but the checkers flew and had to settle for second. John Burtsche unofficially moved to second in points with a strong third place finish. Last week’s winner Duane Schosboek was fourth and Darin Stordahl fifth.

Figure Eight action had ‘Cowboy’ John Carlson winning the Super main and is gaining on point leader Steve Peters who finished second. The ‘Griz’ Doug Delfel was third and Doug Wilkinson fourth. The Extreme Contact main was won by Geoff Chandler. Chandler got to the front early while everyone else bumped their way through traffic. Point leader Troy Simianer spun Noah Chandler on the last lap to get to second and Benny Raynes survived to finish third.

The new Stinger Eights had the largest car count of their young season. In only the fifth race for this new division, twelve cars started the main event. Greg Estes followed up last week’s victory with another. Joining Estes on the podium was South Sound regular and Evergreen Speedway first timer Renny Marose. Keith Hager finished third ahead of Bill Wade.

In the Hertz Equipment Rental Hornet Division your name needed to be Bill to be a winner. In the first of two mains Bill Hill was ‘King of the Hill’ and in the second main Bill Wade was victorious.
