URBAN LEAGUE’S AUTOMOTIVE TRAINING CENTER LENDS TWO OF IT’S FINEST TO INTERN AT T-III MOTORSPORTS

CHINO, California -- T-III Motorsports based out of Chino, California welcomed Justin and Jason Brooks, students at the Urban League’s Automotive Training Center (ATC), to participate in the opportunity to have some hands on training with a NASCAR Grand National West car. Justin and Jason, the 18 year old twins hailing from Chicago, Illinois are part of a 10 week program sponsored by the Urban League that teaches youths the skills necessary to for basic and general automotive maintenance.

Team owner and driver, Tim Woods III and crew chief Jason Roche heard about the ATC program and contacted the Urban League to assist in training, guiding and lending their experience in the world of auto racing to minority youths. Woods stated, “It was nice to have such young and energetic men around the shop that were so eager to learn. I am excited to continue working with Justin and Jason and making them part of the team.” The T-III Motorsports team all took time in explaining and teaching the young men the exact functions of each part of the car and how to perform each task.

For both Justin and Jason it was their first time working on a NASCAR car, however they are no strangers to the field of automotives. The twin brothers were the presidents of the Ford Taurus car club back in Chicago before they moved out to Los Angeles. They both feel fortunate to have the opportunity to take part in the ATC program and they feel that it is a good way to learn a trade. In addition using the trades that they will learn from ATC, both are interested in working within NASCAR. “ After our experience at T-III Motorsports, our eyes are opened up to a whole new world. A job with a NASCAR team seems to have more activity, travel and of course excitement,” Jason said.

“It was a wonderful and refreshing experience to have two very motivated and teachable individuals like Justin and Jason Brooks. Their outlook on the industry and how they perceive their future is a plus and I believe that they both have extremely bright futures,” Roche declared. “To be teenagers and to speak of what they want and aspire to for the future has got them miles ahead of the game and we can hope that they are on our team when the opportunity arises.”

As far as Justin and Jason Brooks being on the T-III Motorsports team, they have been coming to the T-III Motorsports headquarters on a regular basis and are scheduled to travel to Stockton, CA. for the upcoming race with the team this weekend. Woods concluded the experience by stating, “Opportunities like these were not available when I was a youth. It is great to see more minorities becoming aware of NASCAR and actually having a desire to be involved in NASCAR. My team and myself are willing to do whatever it takes to support the diversity initiative in NASCAR.”####
