Brake problems in qualifying on Gene Woods’ brand new Monster Energy Drinks / Circle K Food Stores Dodge Intrepid caused Woods to start from the 25th grid position in the recent NAPA Auto Parts 150 at Irwindale Speedway but the car was right for the race and Gene began passing cars from the drop of the green, working up to eighth place at one point before finally finishing in 11th place, earning him the "Powerade Power Move Of The Race" award for passing the most cars in the event.

"This is our first one for this year." Woods said. "We had three last year, the second most of any driver, and we look forward to the rest of the season. With this new car we think we might have a winner before too long."

The next stop for Woods and the Monster Dodge is Stockton 99 Speedway where they will compete in this Saturday night’s Grand National Western Division Havoline / NAPA 200.####
