STOCKTON, California -- Scott Lynch's plans to put his 08 Yerf-Dog/Orleans Dodge in Victory Lane at Stockton 99 Speedway were thwarted early in the game at the Havoline NAPA Auto Parts 200, Saturday, August 14.
Qualifying in the number two spot, Lynch took off the instant the Green Flag waved and immediately took the lead. "The Orleans crew has given me a great Yerf-Dog Dodge," said Lynch.
"We were running really well and I had hopes for a good race. Then it all went wrong. We were just twenty-seven laps into the event when the second place car hit my left rear quarter panel. I spun and had no choice but to hit the wall. The damage was extensive and there was no way to finish the race. It was really a bummer and totally unnecessary that early in the race. Someone just wasn't using their head."
The reigning NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series Champion, Lynch currently sits in 6th in this year's point standings. "This race definitely hurt us," said Lynch. "We are going to have to really hunker down and start winning. There are still six rounds left and with a little luck, we can move up the ladder. The next event is at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Utah and we took that one last year and have every intention of a repeat performance."![]()
