Rain showers stopped the racing action at Yakima Speedway Saturday night just before the late model main event. The support classes raced their complete programs.
Jason Enfield captured another main event winner after an action packed street stock main. Andy Beaman lead the entire race until the closing laps when he tangled with the lapped car of Casey Merrill on the back stretch. The contact resulted in Beaman finishing in fifth and a penalty for Merrill. Jason Enfield moved to the point and beat a very strong, competitive field to win. Tony Huffines was second with Jack Anderson, Rich Peters in the following spots.
Erick Hargraves set fast time for the Late Models with a 18.698 clocking. Mike Longton won the A dash with Rod Schultz Jr. taking the B dash.
Ken Mullins won the Hornet race and Allen Reid took top honors in the Bump to pass.
Next weekend will be a Monster Truck show with the Hornets racing a longer main event for a purse. The popular compact car class normally races only for trophies but the promoter for this event, Spectacular Monster Trucks, will be paying a purse. The Hornet purse will be the entire amount from the back gate.
The next Pollock Promotions event will be September 11, 2004 with the Late Models, Sportsman and the season championship race for the Hobbies and the Bump to Pass.
