The sixth and final race in the NCMA Select Series will be at Chowchilla Speedway's 1/3 mile track on Saturday, September 11. This series is open to all non winged, carbureted Sprints following NCMA rules, and membership is not required. Teams are encouraged to experience the fun racing at Chowchilla where the hospitality is always top notch.
To date the series feature winners have been Darrell Hanestad of Clayton, Doug Gandy of Oakhurst, David Goodwill from Napa, and Tim Sherman from Citrus Heights. Modesto's Ed Amador currently leads in the series points, David Goodwill sits in second, and Burt Siverling, Keith Shipherd, and Jimmy Lavell round out the top five. The champion of the series will be awarded $1000.00 with second place receiving $500.00, and third $250.00. The race purse is the regular NCMA amount with $100.00 paid to anyone that takes the green to race less a $15.00 fee for non members.The series allows wingless Sprints from all of the Northern California divisions to experience racing at a variety of tracks and have fun competing for a championship.
