It was a busy night at the Bullring in Las Vegas with eight divisions taking to the track and thunder storms in the local mountains. Nava who decided last minute to compete packed his trailer and headed to the track with no crewmen and hopes of finding a spotter at the track.
“Probably the best thing about this series is you can count on other teams for help and parts, it’s a real family atmosphere if not for the help of three other teams I would have never made the track,” said Nava.
Nava qualified eighth in the field of 26 trucks and was just looking forward to having fun and bringing the # 72 Lawrence Building and Design, Racing West.Com Speed Truck home in one piece. At the start of the 75 lap main event under heavy pressure two trucks got together and brought out the first caution leaving Nava in sixth. After making his way into fourth it was all about hitting the marks and saving tires until the checkers fell.
“I am so happy to bring Janet and the Racing West team another top five. I wasn't really expecting it. I want to thank Alex Decuir (#20), Lee Hatch (#91) and Robert Kroeker (#58) for their assistance during the day".
The night didn't end there for Nava, after the race was the tear down for tech, reload the truck and trailer and a long drive home made for a very long and worthwhile night.
