MOORESVILLE, North CarolinaJoel Kauffman and his #44 will carry a special name when the Hooters ProCup Series heads to Mansfield Motorsports Park on Saturday, October 9. Kauffman and his team have teamed up with Spitzer Chevrolet of Northfield (OH) for this weekend's running of the Alan Kulwicki Memorial in-n-out mart 250 at the newly renovated half-mile facility.

The partnership will kick off with a four-hour promotion at the Spitzer Chevrolet Northfield dealership (located at 333 E. Aurora Road in Northfield) on Friday, October 8th. Kauffman's Spitzer Chevrolet #44 will be on display and Kauffman, the 2003 ProCup Series Northern Division Rookie of the Year, will be on hand to sign autographs and mingle with fans. The appearance will begin at 12pm (local time).

This is really great to be teamed up with someone like this, said Kauffman. Spitzer Chevrolet has been a business partner with us for years and they have stepped it up and come on as a sponsor for this race. I'm looking forward to the race and giving Spitzer the best finish we can, which will hopefully be a win of course. Right now it is just a one-race deal, but who knows what can happen with a good showing.

Kauffman will also carry a special in-car camera for the SPEED Channel broadcast of the in-n-out mart 250. The race will be televised on Speed Channel at 8pm on October 14th. The race will rebroadcast at Noon on Friday, October 15th, in conjunction with the "Lunch at Hooters" promotion.

The team will also host a hospitality area for the dealership at the track on raceday.

Kauffman finished 13th at Mansfield earlier this year. Rather than run the race for the win earlier this year, Kauffman and crew chief Tim Kohuth used the event as a test session for the Championship Series event.

I've got really high hopes for our trip to Mansfield. We've tested there a couple of times and we even used that race as kind of a 'race conditions' test session earlier this year, so we've got notebooks full of information on the track and on what we need to do to the car. I'm pretty pumped about our chances and I'm really looking forward to this race and showing Spitzer Chevrolet what a great team this really is.

Spitzer Chevrolet Northfield is part of the larger operating division of Spitzer Autoworld, which has become a mega-automotive retail company that operates more than 30 franchises at over 20 locations in three states. There are plans to expand to other states and there are also major renovations planned for Northeast Ohio.

The Alan Kulwicki Memorial in-n-out mart 250 weekend will begin with practice at 10:30am and qualifying scheduled for the Hooters ProCup cars at 3:30pm. The Alan Kulwicki Memorial in-n-out 250 will begin at 6pm.
