Mike Duncan captured his first win of the year in the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series with a victory in the NAPA 150 at Colorado National Speedway on Saturday.
Duncan has led the championship standings through much of the season by virtue of his consistent finishes, but had yet to visit victory lane.
Kerry Earnhardt charged from his fourth-place starting spot to dominate the front spot for the first 100 laps of the race. A slid into the wall on lap 108 left him to scramble from the back of the pack to finish fourth. His misfortune left Duncan with the lead and he paced the field to the checkered flag.
Austin Cameron, who is second in the point standings, finished second to Duncan in the race. Tavo CT Hellmund was third. With his win, Duncan extended his lead over Cameron to 58 points, with two races remaining on the 2004 schedule.
