Orleans Racing driver, Steve Park has got to be feeling the pressure to perform this week as he prepares to pilot the #62 Orleans Dodge in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway, The Silverado 350k.
The pressure is on because Orleans Racing has four wins in five starts at Texas Motor Speedway, the problem for Park is those wins all came from Brendan Gaughan as driver. But, Park is very capable of bringing win number 5. He finished second in the NEXTEL Cup Series race at Texas back in April of 2001.
Said Park, “I’m actually really looking forward to this weekend. I think we have a legitimate shot at putting the Orleans Dodge back in victory lane at Texas. The Orleans Racing team has a long-standing tradition at Texas, and we want to be in a position to continue that winning tradition. We are taking the 13 truck. It is a new truck. We had a chance to test it at Vegas after the race last month, and we were really happy with the way it performed. We took it to the wind tunnel and had positive results. We are really happy with this truck and it is a great truck to take to Texas and try to win the race.”
Park is currently 9th in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series standings. Last time the Orleans Team was at Texas, they were mired back in the 19th position in the points.
A top finish for the team, would certainly help maintain the momentum, a win would be all the sweeter.
