DAVID STARR READY TO TACKLE HOMETOWN TRACK

Ready to tackle Texas Motor Speedway for the second time this season, David Starr and the Spears Motorsports Team are hoping to score their first victory at Starr's hometown track.

"This is definitely the race I would like to win," says Starr with tremendous enthusiasm. "Not only is this my home track, but this is the only race that all my friends and family attend and what would be more spectacular than being able to take the Checkered with all of them looking on. It would just be awesome."

With one victory already to his credit this season (Gateway International Raceway), there is no doubt that Starr has all the capabilities of winning. "We've been on the Podium here three times in third place, now it is time to turn it up a notch and put our Spears Chevy Silverado in the Number One spot. I love racing here. Not only is it a fantastic facility, but the racing surface is awesome and the fans are incredible. Pickup trucks are really popular in Texas and that is pretty evident when you look up in the stands. The fans are really into the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series."

Currently ranked 8th in this year's point's battle, Starr has been enjoying an extremely successful second half of the season. "We got off to a somewhat slow start," he says. "It didn't seem to matter what we did, things just kept going wrong. Just like at the first race at Texas. We got nailed early on and that put us out for the evening. It was just one of those things that happen in racing, but it didn't make it any better. We finally got the proverbial 'monkey' off our back and as is evidenced by our recent consistent finishes, we are definitely over the hump. I'm excited about this round and am looking forward to a great run."

Qualifying for the 146 Laps-219 Miles Silverado 350K takes place on Friday, October 15 at 2:15 PM (CT) and race action gets underway on Saturday, October 16 at 1:00 PM (CT). If you can't be there in person, be sure and follow all the live action on SPEED TV.####
