Steve Francis, driver of the #15 Mopar and Valvoline sponsored Freeport Recycling Centers Action Auto Mart Rocket Dodge, will be in dirt late model action this weekend in his home state of Kentucky for the Bluegrass Nationals and the Commonwealth Cup at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway. Steve won this event in 1999.

Francis is coming off an 18th place finish at Bluegrass Speedway for the NARA Dirt Track World Championship at Bluegrass Speedway, an event the Kentucky Colonel championed in 1999.

“Our car wasn’t as good as it should have been, but we were trying some new set-ups and things with the new car,” commented Francis. “We are now focusing our efforts on this weekend and the upcoming WoO shows,” concluded Francis.

Steve finished 2nd in World of Outlaws Late Model Series competition at Fulton Speedway on October 9. Francis’ 2nd place finish keeps the former three time Renegade DirtCar Series champion in 2nd place in the WoO Late Model Series championship points chase, just three points out of first with two races remaining in the season.

An additional date has been added to the Steve Francis Motorsports schedule for 2004. Steve will compete at East Alabama Motor Speedway for the National 100, November 5-7, an unsanctioned event and will be Francis’ last event in 2004 in his Mopar and Valvoline Dodge.
