SRL TO KICK OFF 2005 SEASON AT ALTAMONT RACEWAY & ARENA WILTON, California -- The 2005 SRL Wild West Shootout Late Model series kicks off their 2005 this coming Saturday, March 19th at the new Altamont Raceway & Arena. A strong field of over 30 SRL Wild West Late Model Shootout drivers and teams are expected for the annual “St. Patrick’s Day 100”.

Former Champions Steve Belletto and Jeff Anthony will be joined with past Rookie of the Year Champions Mark Smith, Ryan Foster, and Joey Zampa. Additionally, outstanding competitors such as Ken Boyd, Jeff Belletto, Harry Belletto, Ray Lawson Jr., Tracy Bolin, Dave Byrd, Troy Ermish, Aaron Days, Jason Fensler, and Jim Courage Jr. will make 2005 an extremely competitive season. Jeremy Wood, Angelo Queirolo, Rusty Buholz, Joey Stearns, Jamie Dick, David Mayhew, David Mantooth, and Brian Smith all help make up the strong Victory Circle Chassis and Parts Rookie of the year contenders.

Former Champion Jeff Anthony scored two victories at Altamont in 2004, as Steve Belletto and Rusty Buholz each picked up their first career SRL victories at Altamont Raceway & Arena. “The Fastest Half-Mile in the West” will host a total of four SRL Wild West Shootout events during the 2005 season. The Championship will also be decided at Altamont Raceway & Arena on Saturday, October 8th.

Friday, March 18th, 2005 Practice

Pit gates open at 2:00 P.M. The track will open for practice at 4:00 P.M. and close at 9:00 P.M.

Cost: $100 Per car. That includes all pit crew members.

Car Haulers may be left overnight at the racetrack.

The SRL Officials will be on hand at 2:00 P.M. so cars can go through technical inspection.

Registration will also be open Friday night.

Saturday, March 19th, 2005

Car Haulers enter the pits at 11:00 A.M.

Pit gates open at 11:30 A.M.

Registration will take place outside the pit gate before entry.

Grandstands Open - 3:00 PM

Opening Ceremonies - 5:00 PM
