PRO FOUR CHALLENGE
Source: Coply/Pro FOUR Challenge
![]() LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Corpus Christi, Texas Pro-4 driver Randy Lee is an early entry for Round Two of the Lucas Oil Pro FOUR Challenge Series event at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on May 14, 2005. Lee, the 2002 Texas Pro Sedan Champion, will field his Lee Motorsports Mustang for the second time at The Bullring. In a telephone interview Lee states, “We had the car out for practice, and it seems to running very good; and we are all very excited about making the trip to Las Vegas!” Lee ran one event at the Orange Show Speedway in 2003, but has since remained close to home working to establish a new business that will allow the family to make more of the long tows out west. Series Director, Bob Coply states, “It’s always great to see Randy and his candy-apple red Mustang. He’s the only guy in Texas that owns a Pro-4 car and that, in itself, is downright impressive.” The Las Vegas event also kicks off the start of the Tri-State Challenge as a “mini-series” within the Lucas Oil Pro FOUR Challenge schedule that highlights one event in three different states – Nevada, Idaho and California. The Tri-State Challenge has spurred the interest of such notable teams as Lee Motorsports (Corpus Christi,TX), Rumsey Racing (Prosser, WA), the multi-car Quickwedge Race Team managed by Jeff Nish of Salt Lake City, UT, and drivers Kenny Chandler and Ron Hayes of Boise, ID.
The out-of-state talent will be combined with Lucas Oil Pro FOUR Challenge Series regulars from California, such as Mesa Marin Raceway winner Eddie Secord. Along with Secord will be the 2004 ASA Pro-4 Rookie of the Year, “The Real Deal” Shawn Steele from Sun City, CA; third generation Inland Empire racer, Sam Newcomer; Orange Show Speedway ASA Pro-4 competitors Rob Kiemele and Jim Snow; and several other top-running teams from throughout Southern California -- Mike O’Hara (Canyon Country, CA), Adrienne Murlin (Corona, CA), Scott Gatson (Bakersfield, CA), and “Too Fast” Tommy Fowler (Newbury Park, CA). With all of the top-quality race teams entered for this event and with two series championships on the line, this will certainly be one very high-stakes race in the desert!
