Tom Sweatman has been a dominant force in the Late Model Super Stocks all season long at South Sound Speedway. Sweatman won his fourth main event in six races on Saturday night. Brad Tanner won the trophy dash and then started on the pole of the main event. Tanner led for one lap until Jason Hedrick got by. The first caution of the came on lap nine when Bob Emerson and Donnie Steele got together in turn four. Steele got up into the wall and was done for the night. Emerson continued on in the race. The green flew and Jason Hedrick was still out front with Brad Tanner in second, Mike Obrist in third, Nick Behn in fourth and Tom Sweatman in fifth. Mike Obrist got into Brad Tanner while trying to pass him on lap 15, dropping him back to fifth and moving everyone else up one. By lap 18 Sweatman had moved up to third behind Hedrick and Obrist. Lap 47 brought out another caution when Dan Rhodes spun. Two laps of caution later the green flew but the yellow flew one lap later when Tim Gosch got a tap from Rhodes causing Gosch to spin. Hedrick held on to the lead until lap 60 when Sweatman got around him. Hedrick moved into second with Nick Behn in third, Joe Constance in fourth and Mike Obrist in fifth. Behn lost third and fourth position to Constance and Obrist on lap 64. Lap 74 brought out a caution for debris and another was thrown on lap 79 when Brad Stanwood spun.

Lap 84 brought out the final caution of the race when fluid was spilled all over the track. A major clean up was done and the race continued. On lap 96 Nick Behn got into Joe Constance dropping him back to tenth from third spot. Behn got a flat tire in the incident and he began to fall back slowly. Sweatman took the win with Jason Hedrick in second and Mike Obrist in third. Brad Tanner finished up in fourth spot followed by Willy Thom in fifth and Dustin Wilkinson in sixth. Bob Presley was seventh, Tim Gosch was eighth, Nick Behn was ninth and Joe Constance was tenth.

Bobby Micielli started out the night qualifying fast for the Top Notch Trailers Street Stocks with a 15.555 second lap. Jim Swanson stayed out front for four laps to win the trophy dash. Ron Ehli started last in the B heat race but by lap two was the leader. Ehli won the heat race over Bill Posh Jr. and Mike Brooks. Mike Press led all eight laps of the A heat race to win over Jay Hopkins and Jordan McGregor. Bill Posh Jr. started on the front row of the main event and took the lead with Mike Press in second.

Press got around Posh on lap five. Posh held onto second with Ron Ehli in third. Ehli got around Posh on lap 16 and brought Paul Hopkins and JJ Hamilton with him. The only caution of the race came on lap 33 when Jay Hopkins slowed and the flag was thrown as he was trying to leave the track.

Two laps remained and Mike Press drove to the win. Ron Ehli captured second place followed by JJ Hamilton and Jim Swanson. Bobby Micielli finished fifth with Jordan McGregor in sixth, Paul Hopkins in seventh, Bill Posh Jr. in eighth, Jay Hopkins in ninth and Sean Riley in tenth.

Mike Carlson was fast qualifier for the Hinkle Homes Pure Stocks and Steve Woods won the dash. A. Jay Smith led the first three laps of the B heat race before Steve Gerdts took over. Smith spun on lap six and brought out the caution. Gerdts took the win with Kenny Bastrom in second and Barry Griel in third. Dan Walker led all eight laps of the A heat race to win over Scott Johnson and Bobby Moore. Bryan Christoffer took the lead in the main event after starting on the pole position. Lap two brought out the first caution when Jared Vorse got spun and was in the wall. Mike Carlson was mechanically flagged for a fuel leak on the caution. He was back out before the race went back to green. Christoffer was still out front with Steve Gerdts in second and Ian Alder in third when the next caution came out on lap seven for fluid on the track. Eric Lee left the track on the caution. On the restart Gerdts got a jump on Christoffer and took the lead.

Ian Alder took over second on lap 12 and brought Dan walker and Mitchell Woods with him. The next caution came out on lap 18 when Ian Alder, Mitchell Woods and Lamora Woods were going three wide and collected Dan Walker in the crossfire. A caution came out the very next lap when Mitchell Woods together with A. Jay Smith. Both were sent to the back. Woods was black flagged a few laps later for rough driving. Steve Gerdts stayed out of trouble and out front for his first win at South Sound Speedway. Mike Carlson finished second and took over the points lead. Bobby Moore was third and Ian Alder was fourth. Steve Woods finished up fifth. Mark Gernlein, Jared Vorse, Bryan Christoffer, Dan Walker and Kenny Bastrom rounded out the top ten.

Rick Fardig set a new track record in the Dwarfs with a 15.024 second lap.

Steve Evans won the trophy dash. Evans was in the lead of the B heat race for six laps before Jeff Quinn took over to win. Evans was second with Keith Steemslid in third. Tyler Steemslid won the A heat race over Rick Fardig and Doug McVae. Before the main could be started Keith Steemslid spun and went off the track and was done for the night. The race got going and Tony Evans took the lead for five laps before Jeff Quinn got by him. A caution flew on lap seven when Dave Stark got up into the wall. He went off the track and was done for the night. Rick Fardig took the lead on the restart with Tyler Steemslid in second and Quinn in third. Steemslid took the lead for just a second before a caution was thrown and he had to move back to the last completed green lap. The caution was for Hap McGee being very slow. Things got back to racing and Steemslid tried hard to get by Fardig but just couldn’t make it around him. Rick Fardig won the main event with Tyler Steemslid in second and Jeff Quinn in third. Steve Evans was fourth and Doug McVae was fifth. The rest of the top ten were Tony Evans, Henry Corbin, Brian Taylor, Hap McGee and Dennis Reairdon.

Next Saturday night at South Sound Speedway will feature the North Star Yachts and Commercial Drivers Services Sportsman, Top Notch Trailers Street Stocks, 360 Wingless Sprints and the Mini-Cup Open Division and Future Stars.
