YAKIMA, Washington -- Setting fast time of 19.225 seconds in front of a great crowd, Eric Hargraves returned to his winning ways by taking the main event feature in the Late Model class at Yakima Speedway. Fighting off a hard charging second place Christopher Kalsch and third place Ron Bemis. The evening had everyone in the stands wondering how the outcome of the main event was going to turn out as the drivers set up their cars during practice in the heat of the day only to have to change their set-ups for qualifying. A cloudburst passed over and temperatures dropped as qualifying was moved later on in the evening. The only time the Late Models had a chance to take to the track and check on set-ups was during the trophy dashes. Eric Hargraves and Jarrow Crum both proved by winning the trophy dashes that they knew how their cars would handle with the new track conditions.

In the Street Stock class Rick Christopherson came from the back of the pack to hold off second place Tony Huffines and third place E.J. Trujillo. Christopherson set fast time and a new track record of 21.773. Tony Huffines showed promise as he won the A-Dash. A.J. Rose is returning to his winning ways by claiming the B-Dash in his début in a Street Stock.

In the Hobby Stock class Dusty John held off second place Don Klang and third place Jamison Armstrong. This is Dusty John’s second win of this season after his win at the Apple Cup. Brian Pepper set fast time of 24.673 in this breakout class. Ben St. Mary showed promise as he won the A-Dash and Jeff Stinson winning the B-Dash. With 28 cars in the main event it proved to be havoc and mayhem as Pepe Rojas trying to avoid the spun out Camaro of Chance Fiender, clipped him and ripped the right front off of Pepe’s little Ford.

On the one-fifth mile track the stage was set for the Hornets and Bump to Pass classes. In the Hornet class Kyle Wade set fast time with 16.349 and held off second runner up Tyler Guffmiller and third runner up Reese Kastl for the main event win. Mark Bolster secured a win in the A-Dash and Derrick Rapchef won the B-Dash.

The Bump to Pass class had Jeff Burnes setting fast time of 16.664 and taking second place in the A-Dash and main event. Robert Albert won the A-Dash and the main event with Robert Timez taking third. Nathan Boyles won the B-Dash.

The next scheduled race is set for next Saturday, May 6th when the Late Model, Street Stock, Hobby Stock, Bump to Pass, and Hornets take the track again with a full night of racing action.
