After a disappointing break last weekend, Tom Sweatman came back with a vengeance to win the main event Saturday night, June 3rd at South Sound Speedway. Rick Suran and Jim Warn started on the front row. Before a complete lap could be run some cars got together causing a fender to come off Tom Sweatman’s car. Sweatman had to go off the track while the cars were getting realigned to tear the piece off. He came back out before the green flew. Rick Suran took the lead with Warn in second and Mike Obrist in third. Kelly Mann moved into third on lap four. The first caution came on lap 21 when Bob Presley and Mike Obrist got together. The pair was running fifth and sixth. Before more green flag racing was gotten in, another caution was thrown for Jim Warn spinning. Warn lost a lap and came back in at the back of the pack. The next caution came on lap 35 when AJ Fugitt and Pat Schwartzkopf got together. Fugitt left during the caution and lost 2 laps.

The next caution came on lap 41 when Tim Gosch and Brad Stanwood got together. Gosch was done for the night after breaking a clutch. Stanwood lost three laps in the pits.
