RACING FOR THE MISSING AT IRWINDALE

Saturday August 12, 2006 the NASCAR Elite division Southwest Series converges on the high banks of famous Southern California’s Irwindale Speedway Irwindale, Ca. History was made in the late Ninety’s when Flying Bryan Germone set the fastest lap ever recorded 17.36 at Irwindale by the NASCAR Elite division Southwest touring late model series.

History will make its mark in the record books again Saturday night, the mark is the last scheduled championship points battle at this speedway under the NASCAR banner and the last victor will remain untouchable in the history books “We have been very close, won many trophy dashes but not the big one, maybe this is the one” Said Elite division series #94 car owner Roger LaMoure On a positive note, its just a matter of time before a new bread of late model racing will begin, the fact that there are more touring cars across the country then any other series of racing provides for a promising future for the touring late models.

Behind the scenes, the star spangle banner and the roar of the engines may develop the story of the weekend as two competitors continue to donate there hood space for a cause. In July Racing for the Missing received a huge break in case profiled on Pettit’s machine resulting in a safe recovery. “The media played a significant part in the recovery of Charles, we couldn’t have done it without there help. This weekend we hope for another miracle” Said Jim Pettit II of Prunedale Ca. Jim, and his Top of the Hill Racing for the Missing Ford will place a larger then life image and contact information of Victoria Cotton of Goleta, Ca. on the hood of his racecar Victoria, has been Missing since July 15, 2006 Victoria has a medical condition after a battle with Bacterial Meningitis many years ago which concerns her family and friends. “She had gone to the next town by MTD to go to the Farmers market the driver recognized her as she was a regular. He also recalls bringing her back and dropping her off at a 7-11 not far from her home because she wanted to get a local paper, That was the last that anyone saw her” Said close friend Steve Stighe. Victoria at fifty years of age has blonde hair blue eyes and wears plastic framed glasses. The second driver motivate by purpose is Darrell LaMoure, co-founder of Racing for the Missing which will place a larger then life image of Charles Alfonso Daniels of Inglewood, Ca on the hood of his Napa Auto Parts Chevy. Charles sixty eight years of age suffers from diabetes and needs his medication. Last seen in the day time hours near his residence in the vicinity of the 800 block of Eucalyptus Ave in Inglewood Ca. Charles has capped teeth gray hair and brown eyes standing just under than six foot tall. Any information concerning his whereabouts please contact the Inglewood police department at (310) 412-5240
