Phelps Motorsports Inc. received word from Nascar headquarters a couple weeks ago that their driver, Brandon Loverock, has been approved to race at California Speedway for the upcoming Grand National West race on September 1st, and owner Tracy Phelps couldn’t be more pleased. “After the Irwindale West race, our debut in the series, I actually received a couple calls from different drivers wanting to race my car at Fontana as they were under the impression Brandon would not be approved to race there. This is Brandon’s ride and I am committed to him 100% and we are very excited to go to Fontana as a team for the first time and get some needed laps under our belts.” Stated Phelps. “We are structuring things this year for a full time effort in 2007 and wanted to get laps on the 2 mile oval this year, so when we are running for points in 2007, it would not be our first trip to the track. We have Billy Blackwell from Unique Pizza coming out again and we look forward to showcasing the Unique Pizza #98 Monte Carlo at California.”

Unique Pizza and Subs Corporation currently is a startup/development stage company. Jim Vowler, President and CEO, completed four years of research before opening his first pizza restaurant in Millvale, PA and then spent the next eleven years refining every aspect of the pizza business and was responsible for opening more than 20 locations under the name Unique Pizza Factory Corporation. Mr. Vowler's pizzas were the official pizza of the Pittsburgh Penguins and won numerous awards for taste and quality. Brandon Loverock is currently a full time Nascar Southwest Series driver fielding his family owned car and team. Loverock, who just celebrated a birthday on Sunday, is looking forward to the new challenge that California Speedway presents. “I am looking forward to sailing into the corners at over 180 miles per hour. My experience at Irwindale and on the Tour this year doesn’t put anything close to that, so this should be fun. Not just for me, but the entire team as well. None of us have been there to race, so it is good we are doing this now and not next year when we are running for points. I have to remain realistic and go there with the attitude that this is a learning experience for 2007.” Stated Loverock. “I just want to thank Phelps Motorsports, Unique Pizza, Acro Printing, Liz-zard Racing Engines, Earl Scheib of Whittier, and everybody who has helped this team come this far in such a short amount of time.”
