KALSCH, CHRISTOPHERSON, JOHN, AND WADE CINCH SEASON CHAMPIONSHIPS AT YAKIMA

Christopher Kalsch set fast time and won the 2006 Yakima Late Model Championship by twelve points with his second place finish in the season final main event race. Erick Hargraves won the main event with Jack Mondor III finishing third and barely solidifying his second place finish in the season point standings. Ron Bemis finished third for the season, only two heartbreaking points away from second. Hargraves ended the season in fourth place and rounding out the top five for the 2006 year was Ashley Beaman.

Rick Christopherson won the season final race and the 2006 Yakima Street Stock Championship hands down by 156 points. Tony Huffines placed third in the final race and second in the season point standings. Brian Montana Tischler finished the year out in the point standings in third place and finished the final race in fourth place. Casey Merrill finished out the season in fourth place in the point standings but didn¡¦t fair so well as he and Chet Beaman Jr. tangled during the final race in turn four taking both of them out of the race with severe damaged cars. Andy Beaman took second in the season final race and also rounded out the top five in the chase for points.

In the H and H Furniture Hobby stocks, last year¡¦s Rookie of the Year, Dusty John from Moxee, Washington, won his first Yakima Championship this year. John placed second in the season final race behind winner Rich Peters. Chris Van Amburg placed third in the final race and all three got out of their cars and shook hands showing great sportsmanship in racing with each other.

The crowd pleasing Hornets and Bump to Pass cars rounded out the evening racing with Kyle Wade and Tyson Richter taking home the honors on the little 1/5th mile track

The next and final race for this year will be the three-time award winning Fall Classic. This event is slated for September 29th, 30th and October 1st. The 19th Annual Fall Classic will see four classes of cars running for top honors in each division. The four ever-popular divisions will be the Hobby Stock, Street Stock, Limited Late Models, and Late Models.
