HAASE TAKES THIRD AT THE BULLRING

After battling for the lead during the 50-lap Super Late Model feature of the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last Saturday, sixteen-year-old Alex Haase, of Las Vegas, claimed third out of 23 starters in his No. 66 Star Nursery Chevrolet Monte Carlo NASCAR Super Late Model. In a back-up car, Haase demonstrated maturity and patience racing with the current points leader before posting his eighth top-ten finish at the Bullring.

"I got my nose under (current points leader, Scott) Gafforini a couple of times," said driver Alex Haase, "but he would not let me get by. It was a great run for our team."

Hoping to compete next year in one of NASCAR's traveling series, the Star Nursery team is pleased with their drivers' progress this year in a stock car. Haase also has two top-ten finishes this year in just six starts at Los Angeles' half-mile super speedway, Irwindale Speedway.

Haase competes in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series feature division with Craig Keough's Star Nursery team. Keough is the same team owner that NASCAR Nextel Cup Champion Kurt Busch won the 1999 NASCAR Southwest Tour Championship with before heading to the NASCAR Craftsman Trucks Series.
