KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (October 19, 2006)—Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI), announced today that 21-year-old NASCAR Busch and ARCA RE/MAX Series driver, Cale Gale, will drive the No. 33 Outdoor Channel Chevrolet in the NASCAR Busch Series race at Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park October 28.
Gale, a Mobile, Ala. native, is a former super-stock and late model champion at the Mobile International Speedway. Gale has three Busch Series and three ARCA starts this season, winning the ARCA race at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Ill., in his second ARCA start July 28.
"I want to thank DeLana and Kevin for this opportunity. I look forward to working together with Rick Carelli and the entire team at KHI. I feel with Kevin Harvick in my corner, I can develop myself as a complete racecar driver. I'm excited about driving at Memphis."
Gale will be making his Memphis Busch Series debut with the No. 33 team, which currently sits 10th in NASCAR Busch Series owner’s point standings.
“I was really impressed with Cale’s racing background, his knowledge of race cars and what he has accomplished so far in his career,” said Harvick. “We wanted to get him some more seat time in a Busch car and it worked out that he could run Memphis for KHI.”
Gale will have his owner, Busch Series point leader and Nextel Cup Championship contender Kevin Harvick to learn from, as well as the guidance from KHI General Manager and veteran racer Rick Carelli. Charlie Wilson will serve as crew chief for Gale and the No. 33 Outdoor Channel team at Memphis.
KHI’s 2007 plans for Gale will be announced at a later date. See Also .: News Index | E-mail to a Friend Article posted by RacingWest.com staff on 10/19/2006. http://www.racingwest.com
