MYERS PULLS OFF FIRST PLACE FINISH IN QUALIFYING RACE

All things went according to plan for Andrew Myers Friday, Oct. 20 in the opening night of the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway. Myers won the second 50-lap qualifying race and led from start to finish. This first place performance will place him in the front row of tonight's NASCAR Grand National Division feature race, which is 150-laps long.

"This win tonight was a great way to start the 2006 All-Star Showdown," said Myers. "This one's for all the hard work and dedication the Myers Racing team has put in and it feels great to be back in victory lane."

Looking to continue last night's success on the track, Myers is ready to drive his

No. 4 Toyota of Escondido/Red Line Synthetic Oil Chevrolet to another first place finish.

"We made several adjustments to the car and now it's better then last night," said Myers. "I am looking forward to the race and driving the No. 4 to victory lane one more time this season."

The fourth annual NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown Grand National Division feature race will telecast live on SPEED Oct. 21 at 9:15 p.m. PST Saturday
