PEYTON SELLERS FINISHES 7TH AT SHOWDOWN

ANTELOPE, California -- Peyton Sellers, the 2006 NASCAR Grand National Division West Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year and the #16 NAPA AUTO PARTS/NAPA Belts & Hose team took home seventh place honors in the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown held at Irwindale Speedway.

Sellers piloted the #16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS to third from a starting position of eleventh in an inverted field of fifteenth in the first of two qualifying races. Sellers started the main event on the inside of row three. Sellers fought an ill-handling car during the first 100 laps, dropping positions but remaining in the top ten by the mandatory break. The #16 team from Bill McAnally Racing took on tires, fuel and made adjustments to correct the handling problems. During the final fifty laps, Sellers moved thru the field gaining three positions finishing in seventh.

“The NAPA car just wasn’t right all night,” said Sellers. “The team worked hard all weekend but we just came up short.”

“This has been an unbelievable opportunity,” continued Sellers. “Last year, I was back home in Virginia watching this race on TV. To be here racing against the best drivers in the NASCAR Grand National Division with one of the best teams in the country has been quite an honor.”
