ALASKA RACER CAPTURES FORMULA CHAMPIONSHIP

Bologna qualified in the 10th spot on the starting grid in a full field. When the green flag dropped, he immediately went after positions and began picking off driver after driver. Infineons, 2.5 mile road course, set in the Napa Valley wine country was the perfect backdrop to watch as cars screamed by at over 125 miles per hour. By lap 10, Bologna found himself in 4th place, closing in on third. As the laps clicked away and the white flag fell, Bologna was in a heavy battle for second place where he finished the race among so many well seasoned drivers. By finishing second in the race, Bologna acquired enough points over the year to win the championship series.

In victory lane, Bologna was surrounded by family and friends who had traveled from Alaska to watch the final race of the season. With this championship win, Bologna has been offered another year in the formula series but also has plans to compete in the NASCAR Busch Grand National West series in the 2007 season and possibly the Toyota Atlantic series.
