HORNADAY AT HOMESTEAD-MIAMI: Ron Hornaday will make his 14th Busch Series start of the 2006 season in the No. 33 Outdoor Channel Chevrolet on Saturday at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway (HMS). Hornaday has six career Busch Series starts at HMS. His last start there was in 2004 when he finished seventh. Hornaday also has six career NASCAR Truck Series starts at HMS. Hornaday has one win in the Truck Series at HMS, in 2002. In Hornaday’s six Truck Series starts he has 3 top-five and six top-10 finishes. Hornaday made his first NASCAR Truck Series start at HMS 10 years ago in 1996.

DOUBLE-DUTY WEEKEND FOR HORNADAY: Ron Hornaday will pull “double-duty” this weekend at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway. Hornaday will drive the No. 33 AES HR Solutions Chevrolet Silverado in the NASCAR Truck Series event on Friday night and the No. 33 Outdoor Channel Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS in the NASCAR Busch Series event on Saturday night. Hornaday has pulled “double duty” in the two Series six other times this season (Dover, Milwaukee, ORP, Bristol, Texas, Phoenix). Hornaday’s best finish in those four weeks was a third-place effort in the Bristol Busch race.

DID YOU KNOW?: The No. 33 Chevrolet is the highest ranking non-Cup affiliated Busch team in the 2006 owner points standings. The No. 33 currently sits in the eighth spot in the rankings. Team owner DeLana Harvick was ranked 10th in last season’s final owner points standings.

KEVIN HARVICK INC. AT HOMESTEAD-MIAMI: KHI has made two Truck Series starts (2004, 2005) at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway and one Busch Series start (2005) at the 1.5-mile oval. In addition to the three starts company wide, owner, Kevin Harvick has two Busch Series wins at the track (2004, 2005). Harvick can make Busch Series history this weekend with a win, which would tie the Busch Series single season record for wins with 10.

HORNADAY’S SEASON TO DATE: Ron Hornaday has made 13 NASCAR Busch Series starts in 2006. Hornaday has three top-five and five top-10 finishes. Hornaday’s best finish was a third-place effort in August at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. Hornaday also has made all 24 of 25 NASCAR Truck Series starts in 2006. Hornaday has two wins, eight top-five and 12 top-10 finishes in the Truck Series. Hornaday is currently sixth in the Truck Series driver points standings. The No. 33 Outdoor Channel team is currently eighth in the NASCAR Busch Series owner points standings.

KHI QUOTEBOOK

Driver: Ron Hornaday

WHAT’S BEEN THE KEY TO YOUR RECENT STRING OF GREAT RUNS IN THE BUSCH CAR? “I think the most important thing has been more time with Wally (Rogers) and the guys. We’ve really started to gel and work well together as a team. Wally knows what I’m looking for in the car, and the cars have been great. Everyone at KHI has been working their guts out and building great race cars.”

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU’VE BEEN RACING AT HMS FOR 10 YEARS? “Back in 1996 we came to Homestead with the Trucks. I’ve been lucky enough to win at Homestead, but that was with the old configuration. I’ve had some good runs over the years at Homestead, and hopefully this weekend we can put together another couple of good races.”

Crew Chief: Wally Rogers

RON RUNS WELL AT HMS, WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT THIS TIME? “We’re bringing the car that we ran so well with at Texas. (Ron) Hornaday and I have been working together a lot lately with all the “double-duty” races the past few weeks. The guys have been building great race cars and Ron has been giving us 110% so it should be a good weekend for us.”

HAS DOUBLE-DUTY HELPED YOU RECENTLY? “Getting the extra time to work with Ron (Hornaday) has been the biggest help. It’s a good way to work out the bugs on the first day and then stay a step ahead for the rest of the weekend. By race time on Saturday we already know what to expect and what to do in a variety of situations.”

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

KHI crew chief Wally Rogers will load chassis No. 027 onto the transporter for competition at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway. Chassis No. 027 was last raced at Texas Motor Speedway two weeks ago by Ron Hornaday. Hornaday finished fifth in that event.

The NASCAR Busch Series Ford 300 at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway can be seen live on TNT at 7:00 p.m. ET. MRN will carry the live radio broadcast.####
