MIDLAND, Texas -- The gates finally flew open once again at the Champion Motor Speedway and the race fans in attendance witnessed a great race under pleasant and sunny skies.

With light winds and temperatures in the mid 70’s, the racing gods made it clear that on this special Sunday afternoon … it was good to be back on-track.

The occasion was the inaugural Panacore Corp. “West Texas Tango” presented by 102.1 FZX. Over 70 cars were on hand they didn’t disappoint the strong crowd in attendance.

In the Double H Bands - Modified feature main it was Greg Skiles taking the 1st place hardware, with car #7x and Trent Crawford rounding out the top three positions

In the SOS Staffing - West Texas 305 Winged Sprint Car main it was Leighton Crouch coming home in first place, followed by Alan Bjorgo and Tye Farmer. Special thanks to the winged warriors for making the long tow over to put on a special exhibition at CMS.

In the Dakota Auto Sales - Sport Mod main it was Odessa’s own Phillip Houston taking the honors, along with Kenneth Graves and Junior Robertson.

In the Super I Stock Mod main it was Justin Graves winning, with Wes Crouch and Tim Pyle in tow.

In the AutoRacingToday.com - Street Stock main it was Angela Phillips taking the win, followed by Mack Seay and Ray Compton.

Finally, in the N-Tune - Hobby Stock main it was Tyler Young, followed by the #60 car, with James Robinson rounding out the podium.

Now that the dust has settled on the successful debut at Champion Motor Speedway, the speed plant will continue with its remodeling projects.

When race fans return for the 2007 season, the facility will boast a new playground, tailgate area, VIP hospitality village, and beer garden. 2007 season and tailgate passes are now on sale. Racers will see new pit concessions, crashwall and debris fence. 2007 pit pad reservations are also now available.

Next season, racing will resume once again on Saturday nights.####
