BOTHELL, Wash. -- Gary Lewis Racing LLC has set its 2007 racing schedule highlighted by the opportunity to compete in the prestigious Montana 200 to be held July 20-21 at Montana Raceway Park located just north of Kalispell.

A balance of ARCA West Late Model Challenge Series events and the newly formed Northwest Tour make up 16 races the team will enter concluding with the Shasta Shootout for Tour-based machines on Oct. 20-21.

“We’re excited about this year’s schedule; especially the chance to run the Montana 200,” Lewis said. “This team has always wanted to compete in that event but our former series generally provided a conflict or the equipment we had was not legal for the race. We’ve won a Tour race up there (in 2002) and it would be awesome to add a 200 trophy from Kalispell to our list of accomplishments.”

Each stop in the 2007 season is a potential for victory, Lewis added.

“With a new Chevrolet Monte Carlo built to the Late Model Challenge Series rules package along with our championship-winning Tour car we feel that our chances of being contenders at each of the 16 races we enter are very high and very strong in the 200’s in Montana and Idaho.”

The Sign Factory USA team will continue to use engines provided by Nutter Racing Engines and late model bodies from Aluminum Racing Products, Lewis added.

“A.C. Nutter’s engines powered us to the 2006 NASCAR Northwest Series championship and were flawless at each event. Having his engines under the hood for the Late Model Challenge Series Chevrolet will give us a strong program as we enter this series with the goal of winning a championship,” the two-time NASCAR champion said. “Having ARP provide our team with the body for the Late Model Challenge Series entry is an added bonus to this year’s outlook.”

Another long-time supporter, Leary Racing Products, will assist with shock packages for each race car, Lewis noted.

“Mike's (Leary Racing Products) help with our shock program last season was a major factor in our championship run. I can’t wait to see what he’ll add to our late model car.”

Braking power for Gary Lewis Racing will be provided by newly signed AP Brakes, according to Lewis.
