CAREER MEDIA COACHING CLASS TO BE DISCOUNTED FOR ASA DRIVERS

“Having solid media, sponsor and public relations skills are components critical for success that drivers and crew people should be working on,” stated veteran motorsports broadcaster Rick Benjamin, whose Visioncast, Inc. group facilitates the media coaching sessions with long-time racing journalist/public relations specialist John Close and Close Finishes. “Knowing how to manage the media and sponsors is a big key to being successful in today’s racing world.”

According to Benjamin, the seminars consist of a morning classroom session and a live camera afternoon program. Class sessions are held in Charlotte, NC.

“We use the morning classroom program to give participants at all racing levels and ages an overview of the different kinds of media, how it works and what to watch out for,” stated Benjamin. “In the afternoon session, we put the participants in interview situations in front of the camera so they can get comfortable with the process. Just being comfortable in front of the camera, having the correct body language as well as knowing what to say and when is a big advantage. That’s not only true in working with the media, but also very critical when you’re standing in front of potential sponsor who has the financial ability to take your racing efforts to the next level.”

The seminars have already tutored a number of drivers including current NASCAR Nextel Cup champion Jimmie Johnson. Others to complete the class are NASCAR Cup driver Tony Raines; NASCAR Busch Series racers Danny O’Quinn and Timothy Peters; NHRA drag racer Dave Connolly; and USAR Hooters Pro Cup drivers Andrew Rogers, Ken and Brett Butler.

Visioncast/Close Finishes Career Media Training Seminars are currently being offered on select dates from now through April.

Originally priced at $4,500 for an individual, daylong Career Media Coaching Seminar, the course has been discounted for ASA drivers to just $2,500.

Additional discounted group rates for two or more seminar participants are available.
