SEAN MURPHY AND CREW CHIEF DEON DENEAU TEAM UP FOR FIRST ASA LATE MODEL SERIES RACE IN SAN ANTONIOASA LATE MODELS
Date: 02/27/2007
"I've never chased a point's championship," said Murphy. "I've raced sports cars, open wheel, stock cars and I've won some races. But running for a points championship isn't something I've got on my resume, yet." Murphy is confident in his chances, but also knows racing can be a tough game. "I think we have as good a shot as anyone," said Murphy. "Anything can happen out on the track, but I think if we can keep our nose clean and have top finishes with a few wins we'll be right in the mix of the championship. For now we'll just take it race by race."
Murphy stated earlier in the season that he races to win. But there may be some level of adjusting to compiling points and saving the race car. Deon Deneau, Murphy's crew chief for the Challenge Series thinks they can get the job done as well. "I think we can win this upcoming race and I think we can win the championship," stated Deneau. "Why not us." See Also .: News Index | E-mail to a Friend Article posted by RacingWest.com staff on 02/27/2007. http://www.racingwest.com
