IRWINDALE, Calif. -- Four races highlight Irwindale Speedway’s Whelen All-American NASCAR Weekly Racing Series schedule this Saturday (March 31) night.

Three racing divisions make their season debut at the Speedway including the Vista Paint Super Stock Series, Justice Brothers / High Point Distributing Mini Stock Series and the West Coast Pro Trucks. The Auto Club Late Model Series returns for the second consecutive week to cap the evening’s schedule of racing activities.

Last Saturday’s race served as a preview of what will be a competitive and interesting season for the Late Model division. Doug McComb of Thousand Oaks, Calif. who was the 2004 Division champion but has competed infrequently the past two years due to a limited budget, drove to an impressive victory edging out Tayler Malsam of Seattle, Wash.

This year’s Auto Club Late Model field features a diverse lineup of competitors including four rookie drivers led by 18 year old Jace “The Ace” Meier, a high school senior from Las Vegas, NV. Meier’s 10th place finish was tops among the freshman class which includes Scott Jenkins of Portland, OR, Travis Irving of Corona, Calif. and Lindsey King of Cherry Valley, Calif. Two women drivers compete in the 29-car field including King and Candace Muzny of Fullerton, Calif.

Tickets for all Irwindale Speedway events are available for purchase in person at the Speedway ticket office, by calling (626) 358-1100 and online at www.irwindalespeedway.com. Auto Club of Southern California members receive a 10% discount off of the purchase of up to four (4) adult general admission tickets for Saturday oval racing when they show their AAA membership card. Auto Club members can also receive discounts on special offers at the concession and souvenir stands.
