ARCHDALE, NC -- Earl Pearson Jr. and the Bobby Labonte Racing Team competed at the Lowe's Dirt Track in Concord, NC over the weekend. The "Colossal 100" sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series paid $50,000 to the winner of the 100-lap feature event. On Friday night Earl would top the field of 92 super late models that entered the event and set the quickest lap in qualifying. The LifeLong Locks Mastersbilt Chassis turned the quick 4/10 clay oval in 15.078 to set the fastest lap and earn $500 cash and a free driving suit for the award. Earl would spin the invert wheel for the heat races and spun a six inverting the top six cars in each heat race. Earl would fail to earn a transfer spot in the heat race and was awarded a provisional starting position in the 100-lap feature event based on last year's pre-entry deadline.

Earl would start from the 11th starting position and moved forward

immediately. Earl ran as high as 4th in the feature event but the track changed in the late stages of the feature and Earl's car was not set up for those track conditions. Earl would fall back and finish 8th at the checkers of the 100-lap feature event. "We had a great car for qualifying and tremendous horsepower with the new Dodge power plant to set fast time. Our car was good in the beginning of the feature but we got tighter and tighter as the race went on. Still a top ten finish was decent and we'll head to the next event knowing our Dodge engines are performing well", stated Earl. Earl and the team would like to thank Billy Henry and all the fine folks of LifeLong Locks for coming to the event and enjoying the festivities.

Earl and the Bobby Labonte Motorsports Team will travel to the Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown MD this Saturday for a $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event. Earl currently has one win on the series in 2007. For more information about the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series visit their official website at www.lucasdirt.com.
