Antelope, CA -- Moses Smith will be seeing the half-mile track of Altamont Motorsports Park for the second time as he takes the green for the NASCAR Grand National Division West Series race the Altamont “200”. The rookie driver from Bill McAnally Racing will be piloting the #18 HASA Pool Products Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS.

Smith comes to the West Series with an impressive resume driving in open-wheel racing and a couple of years racing speed trucks. He is currently 23rd in the chase for the series championship title. He had a disappointing finish at PIR after a broken tie rod ended his day with only a handful of laps left of the race at PIR.

“The car would go anywhere I wanted it at PIR,” said Smith. “We were doing great until the last thirty laps.” After running as high as the top-ten, Smith and the #18 HASA Pool Products team would finish in 28th. “Crew chief Duane Knorr and the team have been to Altamont before and have prepared a great car for the event.”

The teams from Bill McAnally Racing will take the green flag on Saturday April 28th at Altamont Motorsports Park. The race will be televised live on HDNet and presented in an enhanced replay on SPEED Channel. Check your local listings. The race is set to go green at 7 pm PST.
