ASA AERO EXHAUST NORTHWEST TOUR RETURNS TO SOUTH SOUND SPEEDWAY

Yakima, WA -- The West Coast’s fastest 3/8s-mile oval, South Sound Speedway in Rochester, WA will host the ASA Aero Exhaust Northwest Tour on Saturday May 5, 2007. This will mark the return of the Tour to this northwest fabled racing surface. The last time the Tour was on this high banked oval was in 2002.

The 125-lap race will be the first of eight races throughout the Northwest. ASA and Aero Exhaust are excited about the continuation of the 23-year old tour and its return to the premier South Sound Speedway.

Many of the drivers will be racing on the redesigned oval for the first time including ASA Tour veteran drivers Kelly Tanner and Ron Eaton. Drivers expected to race for the first time ever at SSS are Travis Bennett, Matt Hall, B.J. Tidrick, Jason Fraser and Jeff Barkshire.

Local boy Jay Sauls of Puyallup, WA might be considered the favorite due to this being his home track. The young second generation driver starts his second full year on the ASA NW Tour. In year one he had one win. The win was on a similar short track in Wenatchee, WA. Sauls’ effort will be led by his crew-chief father Mike, who has won championships at South Sound in the distant past.
