IRWINDALE, California -- Chris Carmody of Valencia, CA scorched the tarmac and took home his first victory in Late Models on Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway. The number 56 driver, Chris Carmody secured the win after a 50 lap fast-paced race with 32 other drivers.

The High Point Racing team, consisiting of Tim Huddleston, Jace Meiers, Scott Jankins and Carmody all took turns leading leading the pack. After an intense run, Carmody was able to take hold of the competition and win; making him the first driver on High Point Racing Team to find his way to the victory circle this season.

The race got a off to a great start for Hight Point Racing with all drivers dominating the top four spots. In the end Chris and Jace battled for a good 15 laps until Carmody was able to pass him and pull away to the checkered flag.

Carmody would like to thank his motor builder, Lizdard, for making his engine run at the most optimal performance. He would also like to recognize the Racecar Factory, for dialing in the set-up on the car perfectly. And of course, Carmody could not have pulled ahead of the competition and secured the number one spot without High Point Racing.

Carmody who usually has an entourage of women and fresh faces has introduced yet another new face to racing. Ed Hardy Shoes, a fashionable, high end clothing line has entered the wild world of racing, making Carmody the first sponsoree.

Ed Hardy was eager to be part of Chris's racing career. "He sells our lifestyle perfectly," says marketing coordinator, Melissa Diner. Ed Hardy had many potential drivers in their sight, ranging from all sorts of series and experience, but they chose Carmody.
