ELECTRICAL WOES COST HAASE AT ALTAMONT
NASCAR WEST SERIES
Date: 05/03/2007
![]() Alex Haase, piloting the #84 Motorway/MRG/Kyle Busch Motorports car ran into some early electrical problems in the NASCAR West Series 200 at Altamont Motorsports Park last weekend. After testing very well there a month ago, Alex was really looking forward to the race. Haase was 8th fastest in the first practice session and 1st fastest in the second sesison. Alex pulled a 3rd spot for qualifying and felt he had a pole sitting car, but scraped the wall and ended up 12th fastest. After having to change a tire after qualifying he had to start in the back of the pack and within 12 laps was up to 13th position only to start losing voltage. Having lost horsepower, and going 2 laps down he eventually was forced to pit to change a battery under green flag conditions, which caused him to go down 10 laps. When he returned to the track he was running times equal to the leaders but could not make up the multiple laps that he was down. " I had a really fast car thanks to my crew chief, Mike Naake and the team." said Haase.
Congratulations to team mate, Jamie Dick on his 6th place finish. With a couple of weeks off from the West Series Alex will run his #66 Star Nursery sponsored Super Late Model at the Bullring at LVMS.
