SEVENTY FIVE LAPS OF LATE MODEL RACING AT ALTAMONT MOTORSPORTS PARK THIS SATURDAYTRACY, California -- A full slate of racing is on tap for race fans at Altamont Motorsports Park this Saturday with a seventy five lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Western Late Model race highlighting a night where all local divisions will be racing.

While Western Late Model driver Ryan Philpott appears to have his #52 "Red Rocket" tuned just right for the track, his win last Saturday night was not an easy one. Philpott had to battle both Eric Schmidt and Doff Cooksey late in the race to secure his fifth victory of the season.

Altamont Motorsports Park expects a full Late Model field Saturday night and if the racing is half as good as it was last Saturday race fans are in for a treat this Memorial Day weekend.

Both the Pro-Trucks and the American Limited Stock Cars will be racing on the 1/4-mile oval. Pro-Truck driver Ron Robeck will be looking for his third win of the season while the ALSC victory circle is definitely up for grabs. ALSC drivers James Dulla, Tim Rappa and Jim Earl all have powerhouses which can get the job done in the ALSC division.

The Grand American Modifieds will be joining the Western Late Models on the 1/2-mile oval. While the car counts have been outstanding in this series, it has been Tony Noceti's show thus far, securing three of four possible wins this season.

And, in a division that is becoming very popular with the fans, the Formula-4's will be hitting the road coarse for two 10 lap races on Saturday. The Formula-4 car counts have hovered around 13 cars and have been coming across the finish line nose-to-tail.

The Formula-4 division is an excellent starter division for fans who are looking to get into racing. Just 800 dollars should be able to get you a competitive racer. But, if you do decide to suit up, look out for the husband and wife team of Doug and Debbie Foreman who are the reigning King and Queen on the Formula-4 circuit.

Qualifying starts at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday with opening ceremonies scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Ticket pricing is $12 General Admission , $9 for Seniors and $7 for youth.
