ALTA DENA DAIRY RACING CLIMBS IN POINTS AFTER MIDWEST RACES

ANAHEIM, California -- Alta Dena Dairy Racing driver Eric Hardin moved up to sixth in points for the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series after his Midwest races last week.

The best drivers from the Division’s West and East Series competed in the combination races. The two races, one in Elko, Minn., and the other in Newton, Iowa, were the first time West Series drivers raced with the East Series drivers for points. Hardin, 24, finished ninth in Elko and 15th in Iowa.

The first of the combination races was at Elko Speedway on May 18 in Minnesota. Hardin was penalized one lap of qualifying after being late to a pre-race technical inspection. The penalty put him in 30th place to start the race. However, his ninth place finish earned him the Gatorade Highest Mover award for gaining the most positions during the race.

“The car was really loose,” Hardin said. “We just drove it as hard as we could to get a good finish.”

The second Midwest race was at Iowa Speedway on May 20. Hardin started 40th after struggling in practice with the new track. He was running 11th when he had a flat tire and was forced to pit. The 5 team was able to recover and finished 15th.

“We’re very pleased with the way our Alta Dena Dairy Racing team was able to have some good finishes after starting from the back,” said John Keith, general manager for Alta Dena Dairy.

Hardin’s next race is this Saturday at 8 p.m. MST at Colorado National Speedway in Erie, Colo. It will be air live on HDNet.
