DAYTONA BEACH, Florida -- In providing live coverage in high definition of each series in NASCAR’s Grand National Division, HDNet production teams have traveled both coasts since 2004 – covering flag-to-flag action in the Busch East Series and the West Series.

This week, the Denver-based HDNet crew gets to stay near home for a live broadcast of NASCAR competition, as the Grand National West Series visits Colorado National Speedway for the NAPA 150 on Saturday, June 2.

Veteran motorsports announcer Mike Hogewood will call the action on Saturday, with Dan Pardus providing the race analysis. Natalie Taylor will report from the pits.

Two-time series champion Mike Duncan, meanwhile, will look to extend his lead in the chase for this year’s HDNet Performance Award. Duncan has led 168 laps of competition so far this season, with five of nine West Series races complete that will go toward deciding the winner of the inaugural HDNet Performance Award in the West Series for leading the most laps in those events.

Two Busch East Series drivers rank high in the standings for the HDNet Award in the West Series – with Joey Logano leading 131 laps and Sean Caisse leading 112 laps. NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series star Kevin Harvick is fourth in the standings, leading 108 laps in the most recent event at Iowa Speedway. Johnny Borneman is fifth, leading 90 laps this year. Scott Lynch has led 87 laps, David Mayhew 56, Mike Olsen 44, Tim Woods III 38, Andrew Myers 20, Justin Lofton 7, Brett Thompson 6 and Mike David 1.

The HDNet Performance Award will provide $30,000 in prize money for the top drivers in the two NASCAR Grand National Divisions, the Busch East Series and the West Series. For each series, the eligible driver who leads the most cumulative laps in the races HDNet broadcasts will receive a bonus award of $10,000. In addition, HDNet is making a point fund contribution of $5,000 each to both series.

Earlier this year, HDNet and NASCAR announced a comprehensive television package of live coverage for the Grand National Division, extending a relationship that was formed more than three years ago. HDNet coverage includes seven consecutive races from the West Series, followed by seven consecutive races from the Busch East Series. Bonus coverage of two recent combined races featured drivers from both series.
