DUVALL, Washington -- John Zaretzke and the Zipfizz Rockit Motorsports Team won their 5th consecutive race and the 6th race of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Super Stock season at Evergreen Speedway on Saturday, June 16th. After a 5th place finish on the 5/8 mile oval in the opening race of the season, Zaretzke and the Zipfizz / Speedway Chevrolet Monte Carlo were ready for redemption. Habich briefly retook the lead during a restart on lap 47, but Zaretzke regained the lead with a textbook “crossover” pass going through turns 1 and 2. Zaretzke never relinquished the lead again and took the checkers on lap 100. After capping off the win with his signature “Zoughnuts”, he thanked his sponsors Zipfizz Energy Drinks, Speedway Chevrolet, By Design Rockeries, Redmond Cycle, Liquid Lime Lounge, Hayen and Associates, and BDR Towing and Truck Repair. He also wished his father “Crazy” Carl Zaretzke a Happy Father’s Day. John Zaretzke said "Our racecar was great all day, right off the truck. We’re just using the same approach to every race - come with the best prepared racecar with basic setups used from knowledge gained in the past, while focusing on one goal ….winning races".
Following the racing events, the Speedway Chevrolet crate engine was removed per Evergreen Speedway rules regarding consecutive wins. The motor was inspected by Evergreen Speedway on Monday, June 18th and was found un-tampered with and completely legal.
