Irwindale Speedway Race Results -- 06/23/2007 | Super Trucks | | Matthew Hicks of Santee took the lead from Pat Mintey Jr on lap 22 and went on to win the King Taco Super Trucks race Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway. Mintey Jr. of Quartz Hill, the division’s points leader finished second, 0.258 of a second behind Hicks. Nick Joanides of Woodland Hills started 11th and finished third in the 40-lap race. | | Legends Cars | | Tom Landreth of Alta Loma won his second Legends Car race in his last three starts Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway. The defending division champion took the lead from Bree Brewer of Riverside on lap 10. Landreth was challenged by Chad Schug of Oak Hills who was penalized late in the race for crossing the safety line. Schug finished 23rd while points leader Darren Amidon of Santee finished second. Mark Borchetta of Valencia finished third and 23 cars finished on the lead lap in the 35-lap race. | | Ford Focus Midgets | | Tim Skoglund of Fresno won his third K&N Filters Ford Focus Midget race of the season Saturday at Irwindale Speedway. Nick Faas of Huntington Beach finished second and Mark Atkinson of Sacramento finished third in the 35-lap race. | | Super Stocks | | Darren Cheek of San Bernardino held off division points leader Bryan Harrell to win his second consecutive Vista Paint Super Stock race Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway. Cheek started from the pole and led the entire race finishing 0.454 of second ahead of the Harrell who finished second. Greg Crutcher of Covina finished third in the 35-lap race. | | Late Models | | Covina’s Mike Johnson edged out Kevin Callahan of Bakersfield at the finish line to win the Auto Club Late Model 40-lap feature race at Irwindale Speedway Saturday night. Johnson’s margin of victory over Callahan was 0.124 of a second. Callahan’s second place finish was his career best at Irwindale Speedway. Tim Huddleston of Agoura Hills finished third. Division points leader Aaron Staudinger finished 29th after being involved in an accident late in the race. Twenty-nine cars competed in the 40-lap race. |
