The 21st annual Fall Classic is set for September 28-30, 2007. The season ending event always draws the best drivers and cars in the Northwest. Hobbies, Streets, Limited Late Models and Super Late Models will also compete. Adding a division for the crate engines will again assure racers that if you have a V-8 powered stockcar, there is a class for you.
“With the popularity of this type of engine growing,” Yakima Speedway manager Ron Bennett stated, “it only makes sense to invite them to the biggest event of the year in the Northwest.”
Yakima Speedway followed the lead of Evergreen
Speedway and South Sound Speedway and included a provision for them to compete in the 2007 late model rules. Recent tests have shown remarkable results and many competitors have expressed an interest in the cost effectiveness of the crate engine.
Speedway owner, Ted Pollock, also announced that effective immediately, the top finisher in the Late Model class with a crate engine is to receive a $100.00 bonus along with a trophy.
