THIS WEEKEND AT EVERGREEN SPEEDWAYThis Saturday Les Schwab Tires presents Mid Season Championship at Evergreen. Added laps and top three trophies await the competitors in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series, FEAR (Figure Eight Auto Racing) Classes and Crash Cars! As the Championship Battles rage, so will the desire to climb atop Evergreens unique "Victory Stage". Located inside the fencing, the stage allows fans to get an up close and personal look at all the winners. Combined with the weekly autograph session which allows fans of all ages trackside to visit with drivers and get a closer look at their favorite car, Evergreen remains one of the most fan friendly places around.

Coming into the night John Zaretzke remains the Speedway Chevrolet Super Stock Track Championship Points leader as well as the NASCAR Washington State Championship points leader. Naima Lang and Roger Habich (see his blog at evergreenspeedway.com) are tied for second place with Darin Stordahl and Shane Harding rounding out the top five. Lex Johnson, the only multiple event winner besides Zaretzke is enjoying a resurgent season at the midway point. Coming off the win last Saturday, Johnson looks to do something he's never done before in his racing career, win a trophy on Mid Season Championship night!

Les Schwab Tires Bombers continue their trek towards the hard fought Track Championship. Jill Lang leads a very close and tightly packed field of potential champions into what has become the most competitive and emotional racing that we've seen in the class for years. The "dark and good looking" Darrel Lutovsky may be set to climb the podium to the first place spot this weekend. He certainly has maintained his composure mounting a charge to within just two points Lang. It is sure to be what NASCAR short track racing is all about in the Bomber division Saturday.

Mini Stocks make their return to Evergreen after some time off. Defending Champion Mark Weedin (see his blog at evergreenspeedway.com) desperately needs some track time for his new engine, among others. The class has really stepped up in 2007 becoming not only entertaining but drawing a bigger car count as well. Weedins Nemesis Chuck Richard and Joe Hobbs keep pace followed by Kriss Harris and Drew Hawthorn.
