ICKLER AND THE NO. 16 NAPA TEAM AT MILLER MOTORSPORTS PARK

ANTELOPE, California -- Fresh off of back to back wins, Brian Ickler and the no. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS/NAPA Filters.com from Bill McAnally Racing were charged up to record a third consecutive win as they went east to Tooele, Utah for the Big O Tires 150. It was the inaugural NASCAR Grand National Division West Series race at the 3.06-mile road course at Miller Motorsports Park that sits in the shadow of the famous Kennecott's Bingham Canyon Mine just south of the Great Salt Lake held on July 14th, 2007.

With the temperatures soaring to 110 degrees, Ickler piloted the no. 16 NAPA Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS thru the challenging fifteen corners of Miller Motorsports Park. Names like ‘Bad Attitude”, “Scream” and “Knock Out” fittingly describe the challenging course. NASCAR road race style qualifying had the No. 16 in group two of three to take the track. The no. 16 experienced a mechanical problem with the braking system during the first lap of the qualifying session. The NAPA team went to work to quickly fix the problem but under NASCAR rules, would have to start the race at the back of the field.

From 21st to fourth in seventeen laps even after taking on fuel at lap ten, Ickler was focused on the leader, despite a right front flat tire at lap thirteen. The no. 16 NAPA Chevrolet came in for left side tires on lap 23 of 41. Returning to the fight in 12th, Ickler once again navigated thru traffic and at lap 35 was second; gaining on the leader. In the closing laps the NAPA car had a short off course deviation, losing 4 positions and finished in 6th place. With three races left in the 2007 race season, Ickler remains fifth in the chase for the championship and only seventy points out of the top three. He is also the recipient of the POWERade Power Move of the Race award for this race event.

Bill McAnally Racing would like to thank their race partner for their continuing support. Over 200 NAPA customers, employees and store owners from the local Salt Lake area were on hand to cheer for their no. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS team. Ickler had the opportunity to spend some time meeting them at two hospitality tents at Miller Motorsports Park. He also made more than ten appearances on local television and radio programs prior to the race event.

The next race for the NGD West teams from BMR will be the NAPA 300 at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington on August 4th, 2007.
