LATE IN THE RACE FLAT TIRE SLOWS THE NO. 18 HASA/WHITE FLYER CHEVROLET

ANTELOPE, California – Moses Smith may have a yellow rookie stripe on the back of the no. 18 HASA Pool Product/White Flyer Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS that he pilots in the NASCAR Grand National Division West Series but the driver from Bill McAnally Racing is no rookie when it comes to road course racing. Smith, who is the 2003 Star Mazda champ, and the no. 18 team looked forward to the inaugural NGND West Series race at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah on July 14th.

NASCAR road race style qualifying had the No. 18 in group three of three to take the track. With a time of 1:58.727, Smith would start the 41-lap race on the outside of row two. Crew chief Duane Knorr and the no. 18 teams strategy was to take on left side tires on lap eight and come in a lap later to take on fresh right side tires. At lap 14, they topped the no. 18 HASA Chevrolet off with fuel and planned to make a run to the end but on the white flag lap, Smith radioed the team that he had a right front flat. The team was quick to change the tire but after running in the top five for most of the race, Smith would finish in eleventh, still on the lead lap. He remains in thirteen in the chase for the series championship with three races left in the 2007 season.

The next race for the NGD West teams from BMR will be the NAPA 300 at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington on August 4th, 2007.
