SCOTT GAYLORD SCORES TOP-5 IN WEST RACE AT MILLER MOTORSPORTS PARKNASCAR WEST SERIES
Source: Gaylord Racing
![]() Long-time Grand National series veteran Scott Gaylord, driving in the #00 Scott Gaylord Racing "Colorado Special" Chevrolet, made a return to the series after an eight-race absence. He ran out front for a quarter of the race, leading for 10 laps until lap 26 (out of 41) at the new 3 mile Miller Motorsports Park track near Salt Lake City in the Big O Tires 150 NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series. This was the series' inaugural visit to the state-of-the-art road course on Saturday, July 14th . Gaylord came home fifth after going the entire race without a tire change. "It was great to be back behind the wheel, and especially nice to lead for a quarter of the race. And the 3 Mile Miller Motorsports Park track -- wow!" Gaylord said. "It was especially nice to have such a strong finish, considering the rocky start we had pre-race. During Friday practice, the driveline failed. Soon after, we found the gear housing was cracked. And then, in the final practice session, the engine blew!"
The team spent the rest of the day changing parts on the race car. "This was
one of those weekends where you just keep taking care of one problem after
another. The crew worked really hard all day -- in 100-plus degree temperatures," Gaylord continues, "and their hard work paid off in the end. A nice reward for super work done by everyone on the team !" See Also .: News Index | E-mail to a Friend Article posted by RacingWest.com staff on 07/25/2007. http://www.racingwest.com
