JASON FRASER TO MAKE WEST SERIES DEBUT

MONROE, Washington. - Jason Fraser has raced a lot of things in his life, and after this weekend, he will be able to add NASCAR Grand National West Division to his resume. Making his West series debut at his home track of Evergreen Speedway, couldn't be any better in his book. After all, that is where Fraser started his stock car racing career, and it's a place he enjoys racing at and feels comfortable with.

"Evergreen Speedway is my home track and if there were to be a place that I would like to make my West debut, this is it. It's close to home which keeps the cost reasonable, I feel comfortable on the track and my friends and family are able to come out and enjoy the show and that's always a great time," says Fraser.

Not sure where his racing career would take him next, Fraser decided to rent a car from fellow competitor Jeff Barkshire and give the West Series a test run.

"It's a series that I've definitely always been interested in. I've wanted to try it out the past couple of years but we weren't able to find a good car until this year. This is sort of a trial run for me, to see how I like the cars and how my crew likes it," says Fraser. "So far so good".

After a test session last week, Fraser got about 40 laps in the car and was very pleased with it. Although much heavier than anything he's ever raced, he also found it to have more power and figured out the key to a good run would be finesse.

"The car is definitely a lot heavier and it doesn't stop as easily or turn as easily as the late models or tour cars I've ran. But our car was pretty fast and were optimistic at this point."

The 300 lap main event this weekend will be the longest stock car race Fraser has ever competed in and he plans to be patient and keep the big picture in mind, not taking an unnecessary risks. Staying on the lead lap with the leaders in site is where Jason would like to be.

Along with his regular crew led by crew chief Jessie Jensen, Fraser will also have Matthew, son of Brock Rentals owner, coming in to change front tires during the pit stops.

"Matthew is on a truck team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series so it will be great to have someone with his experience to help us this weekend with the pit stops and I know he's looking forward to being at home to show his friends and family what he does every weekend."

Jason Fraser has been successful in everything he's raced from motorcycles, to late models and tour cars and this weekend looks to be his chance to shine yet again.

Jason Fraser racing is made possible by his hard working crew and dedicated sponsors: Duane Lanes Dodge Chrysler Jeep, Brock Rentals, Northwest Differential and Rich's Car Corner.####
