THE STAGE IS SET FOR AW LMCS & ‘DUEL FOR THE 200’POST FALLS, Idaho -- Many teams are already showing up for Idaho’s biggest race weekend. The next three days brings the best late model stock car racers to the Inland Northwest’s fastest 1/4-mile oval. On day two, Saturday August 4, the ARCA West Q-Racing Late Model Challenge Series resumes their 2007 season at Stateline Speedway in Post Falls, Idaho. Not only is this an important points race but also is a chance for the top six finishers of the 100-lap ‘Duel for the 200’ to automatically qualify for the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200 on Sunday.

Just four races remain to crown the 2007 AW LMCS champion. This weekend’s race could prove to be pivotal for a few drivers. Gary Lewis the current point leader could maintain or strengthen his lead over Jeff Jefferson. Jefferson is aiming to turn his inaugural AW LMCS season around and mount a charge for the championship. Lewis also in his first year as an AW LMCS driver has won three of the first six races this season.

With the two fold race on Saturday the top in the points will be aiming for a good finish to hold their respective places in the points. Others will be vying for the automatic berth into the prestigious Idaho 200.

The weekend starts on Friday with the Inland Northwest Super Stock Association in a 100-lap ‘Duel for the 200’ with their top six finishers receiving a berth. Saturday night features the ARCA West Late Model Challenge Series 100-lap ‘Duel for the 200’ locking in another six. The remainder of the field for the Napa Auto Parts Idaho 200 on Sunday afternoon will be made up with qualifiers from a last chance race.

If there is such a thing as a favorite it would be Lewis. Lewis has won each time he has made a trip to the eastern part of the Northwest in the past six weeks. The first was an AW LMCS win at Montana Raceway Park, followed by another AW LMCS win at Spokane Raceway Park. The capper was two weeks ago returning to Montana to win the Montana 200 at Montana Raceway park.

Both Friday and Saturday’s action gets underway at 6:00pm and Sunday gets its start at 2:00pm.
