The next round of the ASA-Go Fast- Speed Truck Challenge Series is going to present some special challenges for the teams. That first challenge will find the teams racing on a Wednesday night, August 8th, in Las Vegas and that will mean special considerations such as time off from weekday jobs and obligations to accomodate racing in the middle of the week. The second challenge is the track that is known as the Bullring. It's a tightly wound three eighths of a mile paved oval that will challenge the patience of the drivers and the crew chiefs. The next challenge comes with driver Randy LaJoie. The two time NASCAR Busch Series champion will be in the field Wednesday as a special guest driver. If you've ever watched this man race over the years then you already know he's not coming to Las Vegas to finish second.

Despite these challenges every member of United Racing has a big smile on their faces as they busily prepare for Wednesday night's race. Why wouldn't they? First off the team is based in Las Vegas so it's a very short trip for the truck haulers to the race track. There's also the fact that the United Racing drivers, Darren Young and Bear Rzesnowiecky, have created some very impressive racing stats at this track and they can't wait until the race to create some more. There's one other important factor for the team: Las Vegas is the official headquarters of United Nissan their long time primary sponsor and the team is looking forward to putting on a strong effort in front of them.

Darren Young, driver of the #18 United Nissan-Quaker State-Sudden Impact Chevrolet, will be arriving in Las Vegas very much in the hunt for his third series' championship. The two time, and reigning, series champion is currently second in the points standings and only four markers behind series points leader Victor Pfluger. That's largely due to his outstanding performance during the ASA Speed Truck Challenge Series' 2007 season. Coming into Wednesday night's race the Gilbert-Arizona driver has four wins, seven top five finishes and two top ten finishes. It's performance consistency like this that has placed Young in the position of being a major player in what is expected to be a very exciting run for the series' championship.

Young is especially primed and ready for a Las Vegas race and said "it's another one of my very favorite race tracks. I've had some good runs at the Bullring over the years." With a big smile on his face he added "after all, it is the home of United Nissan."

Bear Rzesnowiecky, driver of the #3 United Nissan-Quaker State-Sudden Impact Chevrolet, is equally primed and ready for Wednesday night's race because he will be making his official debut in the ASA Speed Truck Challenge Series at his home track. Going into Wednesday night's race "The Bear" now has one win, six top five finishes and eight top ten finishes. That places him third in the points standings. He's only 51 markers away from the series's points leader and there's still enough races on the calender where he could become another United Racing player in the championship run.

Just mention the word "Bullring" to the 15 year old Las Vegas native and a huge smile breaks out on the young driver's face. When he's not busy with his primary duties in his United Racing Chevrolet Truck he occupies his time driving in the track's Legend Car Series. In a short period of approximately three weeks Rzesnowiecky won two major Legends features while behind the wheel of his 1934 United Nissan Roadster and he had to deal with 30 car starting fields to do it.. Don't be too surprised is "The Bear" shows up at the Bullring Wednesday night with 100 of his special autographed teddy bears. It seems he loves the Las Vegas fans as much as he loves this race track. More importantly, he will be running hard for his second ASA Speed Truck Challenge Series win of the season Wednesday night and he'd love to do it in front of his home town fans.

United Racing Team Manager Lee Keach is equally primed and ready for a Wednesday night race in his home town of Las Vegas and he's going to be pulling out all of the stops to make sure the team has a better than great chance of scoring a win for United Nissan in their home town. "We love racing at the Bullring," he said adding "Darren has has some very successful runs there in the past and Bear just loves the track. We're going to be arriving at our home track very well prepared."

Meanwhile the members of the two United Racing teams are very busy pouring over notes and discussing race set ups while preparing the black #18 and #3 for another attack on their competition. They want this race in a very huge way and they would love to pose for victory lane photos with the fine people at United Nissan in front of the home town fans. They're also well aware that another good run is going to move them even closer to another championship. Full expect them to step up and be ready for the Las Vegas home court challenge. Simply put: that's how United Racing rolls.####
