SPRINT CARS GALORE AT ELMA SUNDAY AND MONDAY NIGHTS

NSCS NSCS points leader (1204 points) Roger Crockett of Medford, OR. will be joined by some of the best “360 Sprints on the West Coast. Crockett has both NSCS race at Elma early in the season, including a nail biter over Shane Forte of Junction City, OR. Mitch Olson of Tacoma, a frequent competitor at Elma, is only forty-seven points behind Crockett and would like to move up in his quest for his first NSCS season championship. Billy Nutter of Central Point, OR. a former Northern Sprint Tour season Champion is currently in third place in the points race, followed by surprising rookie Robby Vaughn of Snohomish. Other top ten drivers expected to be on hand are Travis Rutz of Langley, B. C. Grays Harbor Raceway regular Derek Ingalls and Seth Bergman of Snohomish. Grays Harbor regulars Jay Cole of Shelton, six time season “360 Sprints “ champion at Elma and twelfth in the NSCS points race and young J. J. Hickle of Quilcene sixteenth in the NSCS points standings and Glenn Borden Jr. of Raymond, two time Elma champion and current Grays Harbor points leader will should also be hand. Outlaws Donny Schatz of Fargo ND, defending World of Outlaws champion leads the points race (7739 points) with fifteen main event wins prior to Friday and Saturday nights races at Skagit. Just seventy-four points behind him is Joey Saldana of Pittsboro, IN. with nine feature wins this year, driving for Enumclaw native and NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne. Schatz is coming of his second straight win at the Knoxville Nationals where he took home the top money of $150,000.00 for his win this year. Danny Lasoski, third in the points race, of Dover, MO. last years winner on both nights at Elma will be behind the wheel of his familiar number 83 Beef Packer car. Next in line is the “King”, Steve Kinser of Bloomington, IN. Kinser has more feature wins (558), more World of Outlaws season championships (20) and more Knoxville Nationals Championship trophies (12) than any other World of Outlaws driver. Jason Solwold of Mt Vernon, WA. is ninth in the World of Outlaws points race and along with Chad Hillier of Burlington, WA. in his first full season with the Outlaws would like nothing better than to have good showing for the local fans. All of the action will not be just on the track, there will be a parade through downtown Elma at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, a celebrity go cart race at the quarter midget track.
The ticket booth will open at 2:00 P. M. on both days for those needing tickets, with the gates opening at 5:00 P.M. with racing around 7:00 P.M. on Sunday and 8:00 P.M. on Monday.
